CAT is working on 2.0.9, supported by hamlib.
I have tested that with my K3 (in my FT897 the CAT interface is broken,
but it used to work with /dev/ttyUSB1. /dev/ttyUSB0 is the gps...)

Are you using PTT connected to a serial USB simulated or are you using
CAT for PTT?
I suspect that CAT port preferences is not saved. I have forced it
downloading from SVN and changing Main.
Is CAT OK?
