Well, whether they are organised or not isn't actually the issue here; it's whether "the crew allocate" or "the crew allocates" that is at the root of the problem. Ben's suggestion merely goes off on a slight tangent to propose a fix for the grammatically based issue. And it does affect the story when the grammar is wrong, or where it is enforced inconsistently (cf. Drakkar vs. Drakkarim). :-\
