WX and python is a great way to go on the Mac. You can create pretty dang good gui's and you have access to the coco frame work if you don't want to use WX widgets. ken -----Original Message----- From: programmingblind-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:programmingblind-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Florian Beijers Sent: Tuesday, February 22, 2011 3:18 AM To: programmingblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: writing apps on the mac Hi all, I have been playing with xCode for a while now , not having much success :D I am mostly bummed by working with GUI's, which although not essential to all programs, are a pretty big thing on the mac side of things. As you may know, the tool to design interfaces that comes with xCode called interface builder, is totally unusable for the visually impaired. There's a system called renaissanceX that pretty much takes most of the work out of your hands but I am having some trouble learning its ins and outs. If someone can help me with this or perhaps recommend me a different way of doing things that would be awesome.
