visual basic, and menus with jaws

Hi.
doing a chapter for my programming class on menus, menu strips, and context 
menus.

1. how do i get several menus, to align next to each other?
did a example of a couple of menus, but the menus on top of each other, not 
side by side, and jaws is a pain, to get to the type here, by routing, there 
must be an easier way?
2. and did a context menu example for a color and font dialogue, and when i 
went to do the insert right slash key, the content menus, did not speak, and 
trying all sorts of things, so why is that happening with jaws 9 standard.
will jaws 10 fix that, or is that just the defult for microsoft visual 
basic.dot net 2008 ?
any one run into this, really a pain.
any experiences, would be appreciated, work arounds, and solutions.
