I'm not questioning that there are ways around this.  I'm questioning that
in reality, users do not follow such advice.  And yes, one could then say,
you get what you deserve, but I just wanted to bring to light a significant
threat to privacy and security here.

No, because you do the captcha thing before you even fill out the form. They

request you to do that for privacy and security. Read up on www.solona.net 
and they'll tell you exactly what I've said.
