RE: state of the list as I know it at this time ...

Anyone having trouble with google capsha's probably ought to try writing
t.v.raman since he works for google now and I'm not sure if he's
google's only blind employee or just one of a very small number. He
wrote emacspeak in his earlier years but gave up support for emacspeak
when the google job came along.

Jeff:

YahooGroups requires captias, & there is no audio option. WebVisum can
solve these, but using firefox may be problematic for some. Believe this
or not, my experience is that NVDA actually does a better job w/firefox
than jaws. Don't know about W E.

I have a creative writing group on googlegroups & I've had some members
complain about not getting mail, etc., but I can't seem to find any
reason for this & suspect their ISP (comcast) rather than GMail. The
sign up process for googlegroups is quite straightforward, as it has an
audio captia, but I prefer using webvisum for it instead.

Webvisum requires an invitation from another user of the program, as
they have been spammed for their captia-solving abilities, though I've
heard that recently u can go to the home page & request an invitation
code w/o an invite. I don't know if that's accurate. U don't have to
have a gmail account to be in a google group, though you'll need 1 to
use its web interface. I think it's pretty much the same w/yahoo as
well.

I can't say either google or yahoo groups support is great cuz it isn't.
B4 WebVisum, Yahoo never got back to me regarding captias I couldn't
solve, & googlegroups basically sends automated emails in response to
queries. So, I guess we get what we pay for lol.

Good luck w/it all.
