unless there is a color reader with a very minimal viewing area or a narrow or corner mounted view lens, no, there is no distinguishing factors to the separate wires inside the cable themselves.

been there done this drill,

working with the tools for this isn't hard, and you should talk to your instructor, mine (an ex-air force major) actually worked with me herself and we made a working cable, but she did have to read and hand me the wires.

if you go to do this, just remember to find and keep track of the curved cutter hook on the tool, it is really sharp and would not be hard to lose track of and slice yourself a good one, when using it, PAY! ATTENTION!

good luck,

Subject: making network cables

Hi all. We are making network cables in a class I am taking. To be specific, they are straight through cables. Can anyone provide any info on how I can do this particularly identifying what color each of the wires are. Is there a factor that will identify it?
Thanks for any help.
