Hi Inthane,

Ya, house prices in California are higher than in Toronto's outlying areas. 
Anywhere with less than a 1 hour commute to downtown is going to run from 
$200 K for a one-bedroom condo to over $1 million for a 4 bedroom house. 
That's in Canadian bucks so that's only about $10 US :).

oh, and a decent middle of the price range home in California will run you,
depending on how close to either the beach or the mountains area's (less
where I'm at in desert borderlands) is around 450000 US, for a two bedroom
two bath house with a garage.

and 600000 is not an unseen thing around here as well, especially toward the
beaches
