On Windows, I think IE works best with JAWS or Window-Eyes, whereasFirefox works best with NVDA. On Linux, the choice would be Firefoxwith Orca. Not sure about other combinations.

For web page testing on Windows, one (of several) free options toconsider is TestPage, located at

http://EmpowermentZone.com/tpgsetup.exe

or .zip

Note that it is only able to test public pages, however. Due totechnical limitations, it cannot test a page on a local host, or a pagewhere you have to log into a web site to get to the page of interest.
