I think I had to get a Passport back in the day too. Rick USA----- Original Message ----- From: "Peter Donahue" <pdonahue1@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hello Rick and listers, I did that and among other things received the prompt for the key even before the page with the key came up. According to information on Microsoft's Web Site I would need to get a Passport or Windows Live Messenger I.D. which would serve as the registration key. Does this sound right? Then you click it and I think a Microsoft page comes up and the key will be there someplace. Then you copy it, close the browser and paste it into the Dialog that came up when you clicked the Register item under the help menu. The bulk of this afternoon was spent installing Visual Web Developer 2008 Express. The installation went great. Since I have some projects I'dlike to use it for I'm wanting to register it ASAP! When I attempted to dothis I was prompted for a registration key; something I don't have. Is therea document in which the key can be found or do I need to contact Microsoftto obtain one? If one of you can tell me how to obtain the registration key or if I need to do something else I'll appreciate that very much. First impressions tell me that VWD is going to be a much better product to use than other Web development environments I've used in the past. Thanks for putting me on to it.
