Perhaps you should also try blinux mailing list, because someone else may have more time on their hands than me and may have built a later kernel with speakup. Sorry, but having a lot of work from school so I haven't had time to upload it. As I say though my kernel is getting a bit old so perhaps asking on the blinux list for a prebuilt kernel with speakup patched for debian would be good. Note that debian kernels will run on ubuntu.
