Um... for how to use viavoice with speakup ask on blinux or the speakup lists, because I'm not sure if you need a certain package. 
So just to be sure.
Also, you should still be able to use sd if for some reason it didn't work for you.
I have a couple things going on in my life, so can I get back to you on the kernel?
