I find that the verbosity problem of highly punctuated languages can be at
least partially addressed via a screen reader toggle between reading with
all or no punctuation.  The JAWS scripts for VS2005 include a hot key to
do this, JAWSKey+GraveAccent.  So, if wanting to browse code without
hearing each semicolon, parenthesis, etc., press that key, and then press
it again to resume writing code or examining it in detail with full
punctuation.
