Thanks my virtual gmail servers had all just been redone so I probably lost
some setting I was used to.  I like this though now that I know my mail is
getting through.

It did. gMail automatically eats an email you send to a list of which
you are a part so it does not clutter your inbox. I believe you can
turn this off in th e settings, but I like it so I leave it on.
