I'm on a mac at this second, but on my NetBeans install on my machine, the line looks something like this: netbeans_default_options="-J-client -J-Xss2m -J-Xms32m -J-XX:PermSize=32m -J-XX:MaxPermSize=384m -J-Dapple.laf.useScreenMenuBar=true -J-Dapple.awt.graphics.UseQuartz=true -J-Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true" That's confusing as all get-out, but those are flags to the java virtual machine. Experimenting with the numbers might work, as it should influence the heap size. I recall having problems on some machines if the numbers get too high, above 2 gigs or so, but I've heard others say that it works fine. As you can tell, this side of things is a bit of a black art ...
