I believe the original poster indicated that installing any flavor of JFW on these remote boxes was not practical.

if you get the jaws remote support for around $200. it will use the remote found on xp and vista, but ain't heard anyone do vista yet. it works like jaws tandem, but better, its not limited to jaws 10 and only jaws users.
The only problem is you have to have jaws pro to get remote access.

Trouble,

But, that's not the issue. Accessibility is.

What solutions are out there for those who want to access other computers
remotely. If you use the JAWS remote access solution, do you need to
install JAWS on the remote machine? If so, what solutions are there other
than JAWS? Are there solutions that do not involve installing
screen-reading software on the remotes?

if they are not setup to share then they won't be seen by anything.
That can only be setup on each box or computer in either mycomputer or
explorer.
