RE: Our Stories Was: Searching for blind programmer to start a school for blind programmers

One suggestion since you're an NDN pusher you might want to put the web page
in your tag line so I don't have to hunt for it.

Hi Ken,

If you look at the front page, you will see a blog post by me that gives a
little part of my story, but nothing else at this point. It's the one where
I talk about trying Vinux Virtual for the first time. I would take that
content and expand it just a little. That would become my story.

Oh, and we need to get more funds for that crown. If you hold your breath
long enough, we might be able to arrange it.

I was going to volunteer but I am to vein I would at least need 15 to 20
paragraphs and maybe a picture of me on a thrown. Hmm a crown would be ok
to.

Seriously though I haven't looked do you have any up there yet because if
you do I might be able to get a couple other people to let you interview
them.

Hi Ty,

I was thinking that if people don't want to actually write their stories
that I would call them maybe on Skype, get their permission to record the
conversation, just use it to write the story, then destroy the recording.
Each story would maybe be something like five or six paragraphs. I'd ask you
just a few questions and let you talk. I think that it might influence other
people who are blind, and those who work with us, that we can really
program, and be an encouraging thing.

I want to make NDN a really good resource, and it is on its way, so you are
going to get tired of hearing me talk about it, contribute, or both. <grin>

I wouldn't mind helping out, however I can there. I just need to know what
needs to be done.

Hi People,

Here I am again nagging about Nonvisualdevelopment.org. Is anyone willing to
put their programming story on NDN? If you like, I can write it up for you

Thanks.

Hi Bill,

If you do not mind personal questions what kind of work do you do and how
did you become successful at it? I thin we can learn from others who have
been successful in a career as a blind person.

And, now and then, you can actually be quite helpful. You know, in
dealing with people with significant disabilities, you need to be
prepared for people with attitudes. What amazes me is how many fully
blind people, who get screwed in so many ways, are kind, considerate,
and basically find a way not to seem like the angry SOBs they have a
right to be.
