to a degree, I'd try turning narrator on, its usually fairly good (sometimes too good) at reading the stock windows dialog, and a note, you should know when UAK is going to pop up, if you turn something on that is going to need authorization, it pop's up, but if your in the middle of reading an Email and it pops up, ah, maybe we have a problem here? just as if it comes up in the middle of typing something in notepad,.

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello: Thanks for the explaination of this. I only have one comment. Isn't the UAC supposed to protect you by showing you -what- is trying to change your comp? If Jaws just locks up, "just hitting alt+y" is slightly counter productive to the reasoning for UAC in the first place it seems. On 9/13/2010 7:27 AM, Stephen W. Wise wrote:Hello,As a general rule if you are launching an application (and I emphasizeyou)and UAC comes up-characterized by a sound (applies to Windows 7)-youwould hit the key combination Alt+Y for yes...this also applies to when JAWSis being installed for the first time or if a new version is beinginstalled; at least from my experiences, the JAWS installer will ask you tohit enter to reboot the system and continue installation (but not always)and after logging into your account UAC comes up. Generally, this is not aproblem if you only have one account on the system as the login screen usually will have your name highlighted if you didn't set a password at which point you would just hit enter. Otherwise, your name would be highlighted and you would hit enter and type your password and press enter.-just hit Alt+y for 'Yes' and the installation should continue. As far as a process beginning at the login screen and then re-initializingitself after logging into the account-that has to do with the securityprotections of Windows 7. JAWS needs to run in an elevated rights mode inorder for it to access the login screen and then reload itself into the users account at the privilege level of the user of the system. And for one reason or another, it starts some sort of new process on login, then restarts itself after you log on.
