Good afternoon,
Can you be a little more descriptive about what exactly you want to change on
your frontpage regarding headings. The bottom line is that if you want to
change the headings used in the template, that you need to customize the
template, which means customizing your theme. This might seem hard core, but
really you are asking how to customize something, so you need to learn how to
customize it.
I believe that if you enable the Profile module in Drupal 7 you will be able to
add fields to the userprofile screen, but you might not be able to require
these be completed at account creation. You can take a look at this handbook
page http://drupal.org/node/31411 to see if it helps. Note I only * very *
briefly skimmed, so I'm not sure if it will help you out.
