Hi Chris,
Gold Wave is $49 for a lifetime license. I think that's a pretty good deal.

I thought Goldwave was only $40 or so, did its price go way up?

Also, I've always argued against "ghetto" applications as they can rarely
keep up with the state-of-the-art. I don't object to them, however, when
they are "special purpose" like the APH recorder-and the user doesn't need
the latest and greatest plug-ins and other cool stuff one can get on other
audio programs, its a great deal for the money.

Too often, we look at the price of a program made specifically for people
with vision impairment and get outraged. Now, let's put a value on our time.
For purposes of illustration, I'll use myself as an example - my largest
consulting contract pays me $80 per hour. If the APH program saves me just 3
hours over its lifetime, I'm ahead by forty bucks plus the cost of the
mainstream app. "Hey Einstein, Time is money and it's money I serve..."
