Ok, well I said I couldn't receive mail -- now it has started appearing --
the only difference was that I crashed OE and restarted it and logged onto
that identity. Now it is working.

HOWEVER, that still does not restore the mail I lost between late last
evening and late this morning. As for sorting my inbox, it is always sorted
by time received descending. So the new stuff is always at the top. That
isn't the problem.

I'm still wondering where I can find my missing mail.

Oh, and BTW, you sent me email when I requested a skype call -- the only
reason I received your mail is because it started working again, which I
found out accidently when I inadvertently hit the send/receive button.
So I'm back online for the time being.

If anyone has an idea where that mail is, please comment!!!
TIA

hello,
I would first note, how many messages are currently in your inbox. The next
time you hear the sound indicating that a new message has been received,
again check the number of messages in the inbox. If the number has
increased then we know that one or more new messages are somewhere in the
inbox, but not at the top or bottom of the list depending on your personal
settings. If this is the case I would first check to see if the option
under "view" has been turned on which groups messages together by subject.
This can produce the effect you are seeing, and I have myself accidentally
enable this feature in the past without knowing it. Keep us posted.
Dennis
