here's my two cents: If someone wants cross-platform, there are things like c++, Python, or Java. If the OP wants windows programming, then use what's there. vs express and .net framework 4.0. No sense in using an outdated library (mono) that only supports half of the features. I like the idea of the project, but really the .net framework is going to be used anywhere in the market.

If it's only windows programming that will be done and the code will never be used in a cross-platform context then yes. -----Original Message----- From: programmingblind-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:programmingblind-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Littlefield, Tyler Sent: Tuesday, February 15, 2011 13:22 To: programmingblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: Getting started learning VB6 so your recommending the OP use an out-dated version of a framework that is supported natively on windows? we're 3 versions on from version 2.0, with lots of new features and lots of changes. If you have memory of having had vision or better yet have a little useable vision yourbestbet would be to learn the language with windows forms. If you havenomemory of vision, then your best bet would be to learn the language using the console interface, and these are two completely different paths. -----Original Message----- From: programmingblind-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:programmingblind-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Otis DBlueSent: Tuesday, February 15, 2011 11:22 To: programmingblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Getting started learning VB6 Hi, Could someone suggest where I can go to learn how to use VB as a beginner?
