Re: Coding VB.NET 2005 app for accessibility

Hi -

Firstly, regarding the note below about recognizing MSAA properties of a
.NET control, I have a vague notion that I may need to enable some
feature within JAWS to allow it to use MSAA information. Can anyone tell
me if indeed this is the case, and what it is that I would need to
configure within JAWS to allow JAWS to take advantage of available MSAA
info?

Secondly, would the fruit basket program be of any value as a model upon
which my developer could base his coding efforts? If so, where do I find
it?

Thanks kindly for everyone's' input thus far.

Here are two web articles:

How to create accessible controls by using Visual Basic .NET or Visual
Basic 2005
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/819351

Walkthrough: Creating an Accessible Windows Application
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa984454(VS.71).aspx

Personally, I have not found a reliable way to get JAWS to read labels
associated with controls other than editboxes. Window-Eyes seems to do
better at recognizing MSAA properties of a .NET control.
