That's correct, they are settings within the emulator software. I'm only on
Jaws V11, so know nothing of the Settings Manager

Hi,

I'm assuming with your last statement that you mean setting the cursor as a
blinking character in your emulation software. The other setting would be a
block cursor setting, which JAWS hates. Another thing that people tend to do
in JAWS is to play with the cursor width and height. In JAWS 12, it would be
in Settings Manager, which uses the old config files, but with a new
interface.

Hi Katherine

It was the cursor settings in Config Manager. One of the settings is
associated with the blink rate of the cursor. Jaws was unable to track the
cursor in one of the versions of Attachmate Extra I used and I managed to
get it working using this setting. The Passport PC to Host software worked
out of the box provided I set the cursor to a blinking underline character.

I'm just curious, what are the settings that you have to tweek? I'm not
accustomed to fooling around with them considering I always fail when I do.

Hi

I used emulation software for several years. Attachmate Extra worked
reasonably well but did have some problems with cursor tracking and Jaws has
scripts for it as standard. The best emulator I used was zephyr Passport PC
to Host. There are no Jaws scripts but I hacked the Extra scripts around to
create scripts for Passport. The online help system is totally accessible,
as is the macro system, file transfer function and keyboard mapping
function. You do have to tweak Jaws settings to enable cursor tracking to
work correctly but this is quite simple.

Hello,

Is it possible to do programming in a IBM mainframe environment using
jaws12? The language is cobol.
