Hi,
I know this subject has come up here before. Usually you don't care unless
you need something.

1. Can I put Linux on a Windows computer without sighted help?
Yes, easiest is through a virtual machine.
2. Where do I learn about that and how to start working with it?
I'd go to www.vinux.org.uk and download their special version of Ubuntu
designed for the visually impaired.
3. Can I run either Windows or Linux on that computer.
As I said in step 1, you can, but the easeist method is through a virtual
machine. There's dual booting, but there's things you got to take into
consideration, for example boot order.
4. How do I pick which one to run while the computer is starting?
It is displayed in a nonaccessible boot menu.

Thanks.

Jim

Hi Jim. Send me your address. I think I have a book on WAMP administration
and the like in pdf format if you're interested. Also, googling WAMP will
yield you lots of results. Cheers!

Subject: Apache Administration Material

Hi,
I will be starting to help administrate a web site that uses Apache. The
server has the usual stuff: Perl, PHP, MySQL, and so on. Can anyone point me
to reading material that will help me get up to speed? I know that I will be
using command line tools, no GUI. The administration of the operating system
(a form of Linux) is not my responsibility. It would probably help me if I
did a review of basic stuff like UNIX or Linux commands just to make sure I
don't break something because I know just enough to be dangerous.
Thanks.
