That sure sounds like a winner to me - good work Jacob. Post up if it works as 
described. I was having trouble believing that Microsoft had designed a popular 
tool like that without some method of setting up the control to have fixed 
headers. Anyway, glad you found that article.
  Just setting a Control Property and adding a CSS Statement into the Project 
at design time is the most elegant solution I had seen in my quick look around 
Google. I guess that is one reason why MS included the ability to break out the 
Header CSS Properties from the Row Properties.

  All I needed to have done is use the right search terms etc. - helps to call 
them fixed instead of static column headers, and, FWIW, my search terms for
