As for the Safari question: yes! The rub is this: it depends on the subscription level. Download tokens are awarded based on the level of subscription, and they can also be purchased. You can download an entire book in PDF format provided you have a sufficient number of download tokens. It is also possible to download a single chapter at a time from a book. The PDFs that are generated are quite accesible to JAWS in my experience.

Hello, all.  I found that Bruce Eckel's 'Thinking in Java' is a great book
and you can get a free copy of the 3rd edition at www.mindview.net as well
as a commercial version of the 4th edition which covers Java 5/6 as an HTML

Also, if you can recommend any books that particularly helped you when you 
first started, or even help you now, would be great.

Have you always been coding using Java? If not, did you find anything
particularly helpful in your transition from structured to Object-Oriented 
programming?

Well you can guess that I am.... It's been quiet since I came back to the
list in the spring but I would say also that it is vacation season and
myself I just had three weeks off.

I'm planning a third instalment for debugging with Eclipse for the near
future if that helps.
