Hi Susie! First of all, Eclipse itself has pretty comprehensive help, it's organize as a tutorial. Eclipse is a product of IBM, that's why everything in it is accessible (in oppose to Sun). Also go over Key Assist (under Help menu) and see which functions are available. I have a very good Eclipse user guide in PDF format. I was not able to send it to you because the file is too big for my e-mail memory. Try to find it on-line, the author is Adam Kiezun. Let me know if you have any problem. Does anyone have a simple list of key strokes? The sequence of the key strokes is as they are layed out. Press the ALT key, then W for window, next V for Show View, nnext press the letter P twice for Problems. And then hit enter Jim -----Original Message----- From: program-java-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:program-java-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Stanzel, Susan - Kansas City, MO Sent: July 10, 2009 14:39 To: program-java@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [program-java] Re: Eclipse editor Hi Jim, What is the sequence of these keys? However JFW doesn't pick this up. Periodically what I do is save with ctrl + S.... Then with alt + v + w + P + P, I will review any problems. This key combination will take you to the Problems screen, where you are presented with a tree view of arrors and warnings. By eexpanding a node from the tree you will be placed on the naritive of the error message or warning. Pressing enter on the error message will return you to the point of the error in the editor. The man who installed it said that he could type something wrong and some red printing or red something would let him know immediately what something was incorrect. He said with Eclipse I could code much faster and more correctly. -----Original Message----- From: program-java-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:program-java-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Corbett, James Sent: Friday, July 10, 2009 11:03 AM To: program-java@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [program-java] Re: Eclipse editor Hello I use JFW with Eclipse and for the most part things work well. I had begun a set of tutorial documents but that fell to the way side due to editorial difficulties with respect to what I thought would be the right path and what others on this list thought sshould be the end result. I've since deleted these documents but I do believe some one or another was collecting them for future web publishing.
