As for My Documents: try c:\Documents and Settings\Default User\
As for the Command Line: You must be in the directory via the prompt, next type
Javac MyClass.java for example. The class path must be set ahead of time by the
way.

Hi Jim,
No it isn't.
I've tried using run through the start menu also but to no avail - I don't know
if this makes a difference.
Also wondering if I could just click the file and open with jdk.

Hi all,
Using Windows XP with Jaws 9 - sadly.
Presently working on O U project and need to start a java program through
the command line.
I've tried entering the syntax as given but no go.
The file I need to run is called Welcome.java and is presently in My
Documents.
First of all, can anyone supply the correct syntax using javac to run a java
program and
Secondly, can anyone tell me what the address of My Documents is on a
machine with a single user set up on it.
