Hi Mal,

I just ran a comparison test... I had an old printout from a system test
which I did in March 2003, over 2685 meetings and it took 2:40.

The same test today, over 4524 meetings took 7:57. By my reckoning, it
should have taken just over 4:30. Even if we allow a small leeway for
increased database sizes etc, it shouldn't have taken much more than
5:00... Therefore, the test has taken about 60% longer than it should have.

Now, there is a lot more written to the CSV file now than there used to be,
in particular the Better Rating for each horse, which requires a further
calculation and comparison for every horse in each field, so this may have
something to do with it.

Cheers,
Chris.
