Hi PPugs
Given that I have a relatively old machine, I expected to come last, but 
apparently not if these figures are anything to go by.
Processor: Athlon 1400
RAM:512
OS: XP
Speed=167secs/2058meetings=0.081146744

Certainly I would have some concerns if the test took 4 mins (as per Chris) 
but at 2m 47 sec. I am reasonably content.
For "buffs"; does this mean the processor speed is less relevant than the 
RAM, or is it that I have (a) run PPP thru' as per Neale's suggestion 
(Which I didn't know about previously), and/or (b) I tried out this PC 
PITSTOP program. Apart from a bit of SPAM which Internode takes care of for 
me, it seemed OK.

Hi All,

given the discussion on speed recently, I thought it might be a good idea 
to see how fast each of our respective computers are... Might make me think 
about an upgrade if it's really worth it...

So, we have a speed contest.  If those interested can run the system that I 
have posted below, and report their results, along with their machine 
specifications (processor, ram, o/s)..  The test period is from 01 Jan 2003 
to 31 Dec 2003.  Final speed will be calculated as "time per meeting 
considered" for those who have slightly different meetings 
downloaded.  Winners get bragging rights until a faster machine comes 
along!!! :-)
