[ppug] Fixing Price Predictor

Hi Norm
You have the right idea, deleting these file types

The file extensions you can safely delete out of your c:\price directory
are all

txt
rtf
csv

This will clean out all the unwanted word and excel files that just build
up. This type of delete is suited to anyone with just price predictor of
any version installed.

The analyser module generates its own file types and like word and excel
leaves the rubbish or old stuff in your price directory forever.

If you run the analyzer upgrade of Neile's, there is only one file you need
to salvage out of the c:\price directory. It is called
'pphelp.htm' >>>>> Do not delete this file as it is the help file for
price predictor <<<<< .

All other files in the c:\price directory with file extensions of 'html' or
'htm' can be deleted. I do suggest caution tho in deleting htm or html
files as the analyzer upgrade can refer to these files as previous tests.
It won't crash Price Predictor, but if you delete them some functionality
may be removed from the software upgrade ..... although it is possible to
work around the issue of logging past tests under price predictor if you
want to ..... It is up to you, but I delete them ..... If you want to
track the past tests just copy and paste them into a word document ....
save them that way .....

The best way to do all this sort of file deletions is to do this by using a
batch file. A batch file runs similar to an executable file in that it can
launch and do a whole swag of tasks in a single pass. They are great time
savers, by automating as many computer tasks as you care to run. You can
then once you have the file either run it in Windows scheduler or put it in
your windows startup (This is what I do) So every time my PC boots up or
turns on it cleans out old tests from Price Predictor.

Either delete the files manually to keep your Price Predictor running lean
or if you know what a batch file is and/or want to use one, I can either
send you offlist the code I use or the batch file. Batch files are best
suited to people who are confident in using their computer's basic
operating system.

Regards

Zel
