Koran di UK pada dasarnya ada dua macam:
1. Broadsheet newspaper (koran tradisional) yang berita dan analisisnya
bonafide. Koran ini sering kali mempunyai afiliasi politik yang memberi
warna utama (nggak berarti tiap berita berafiliasi ke pandangan politik ini,
lho). Mulai dari yang terbesar:
- The Daily Telegraph (incl. The Sunday Telegraph) -- conservative
- The Times (incl. The Sunday Times) -- conservative (agak ngepop)
- The Guardian (incl. The Observer) -- Labour leftish, saat ini bermusuhan
dengan Tony Blair, jadi agak bias (bombastis).
- The Independent -- Liberal

Terus terang dari semua aku paling sesuai sama The Daily Telegraph soalnya
nggak bombastis. (None of the four is in a very good term with the Blair
government!)

2. Tabloid newspaper yang ditujukan bagi massa kebanyakan (working class
yang pendidikannya biasanya cuman samapi umur 16 tahun.). Tirasnya emang
seringkali lebih besar dari Broadsheet, cuman beritanya cenderung konyol,
kontroversial. dan pupulis. Tapi bagus untuk berita2 Sport.  Contohnya: The
Sun, The Telegraph, The Mail, Daily Sport, Daily Star, Daily Mirror......
Read these at your own peril. (Kalo untuk pria koran2 ini tiap hari ada foto
syuuur-nya lho, misalnya The Sun terkenal dengan page 3 nya... Kalo aku
pulang deh tak bawain contoh The Sun)

(Golongan ketiga adalah tabloid gratisan seperti METRO-- so I can't see
METRO being called a quality newspaper.)


BTW: Anti Nazism nggak ada hubungannya dengan Jewish view di UK. Sikap ini
berakar dari kompetisi dengan Jerman yang udah dimulai sejak abad ke 19
(jauh sebelum PDII). Soal konflik di Timteng publik di UK dan Eropa selalu
lebih cenderung ke Palestina. Jadi masalah berita Prince Harry adalah
masalah anti Jerman, bukan pro Yahudi.

as a Nazi soldier.

Harry, 20, wore the swastika and desert uniform of Rommel?s hated German
Afrika Korps to the party in West Littleton, Wilts.

Last night he said: ?I am very sorry if I have caused any offence. It was a
poor choice of costume and I apologise.?

HAS Prince Harry lost all sense of reality? He will be joining the British
Army in five months ? the same Army that lost thousands fighting the Nazi
menace.

Old soldiers will be sickened when they see the young prince behaving like a
drunken member of the Hitler Youth.

Jewish groups will be horrified that a member of such a privileged family is
wearing this despicable emblem of evil.

They will ask angry questions of the Royal Family. Where were his father and
the highly-paid courtiers who advise this young man?

Who let him drive out of Highgrove dressed this way?

Smoking cannabis, late-night drinking and brawling with paparazzi could be
explained away as the errors of youth.

But Harry, what must you have been thinking when you put on that armband?

How much longer can we keep saying this is just the folly of youth?

This outfit will just encourage British neo-Nazis and racist skinheads to
believe that their sick views are right.

Prince Edward is going to Auschwitz later this month to represent the Queen
at the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the death camp.

It might be an idea if Harry went with him.
