TMC  (Toyota  Motor  Company)?We  have  a  major complaint to MNC from
Japan.AFAIK,they  always  create  ways  as  to  make  us  dependent on
them.Where the hell is the formal transfer of knowledge and technology
they  promise  to  deliver  on  their  first  arrival in Indonesia?Pak

was a visiting lecture brought by a Professor from Japan in my Faculty.Although 
he can
communicate  in  English  and  have  the  paper  he  delivered also in
English,he     insisted    to    give   speech   in   Japanese   and
we,student,could not had the paper.

Many  developing nations have government lacking desire to do
best practice for dealing with MNC from developed nations.Sadly,in the
end  MNC  will always have more gain in their relation with developing
nations  goverment-in this case government official of course.I do not
know  whether  the  government  is  stupid  or  the MNC is smarter.Many
stories  were run about this unbalance relationships.Many critics have
been  aired  about the relatively small portion of contribution of MNC
to  the  nations  (in  form  of  tax  for  instance)  where  they have
operations.FreePort  McMorant  is  once  alleged to be give only small
proportions of it operation profit in Tembagapura to Indonesia.

Brand image?This is an interesting subject in Marketing Management.Its
practitioners  keep  searching ways to create brand image that finally
can  command  premium  price (hence higher profit).They  make use of irrational 
behavior that
sometime emerge from people especially the rich/affluent ones.Contrary
to business principle coined by Aa Gym which prefer low margin couples
with high number of customer to achieve overall profit,Westerner adopt
different  approach.Westerner  (or businessperson influenced by) tend
to  think of making profit from product with high scale of brand image
on  narrow  customer  base.This  can  leads to practices of separating
customer   based  on  their  potential  of  contributing  to  company
profit.Example,many banks have opened services that essentially caters
for individual need of customer with big deposit.

Culture  actually have no direct connection on business greediness 8-)
Many  business  venture  in  Indonesia  essentially  only  function as
middleman.But  guess  what.They  learn  to  do  so  from their beloved
patron,Western  businessperson  8-)  The  teacher urinate standing,the
student  urinate  running...(ngawur ae rek terjemahane,sopo se ndhisik
guru Bahasa Inggris-e pas ndhuk SMA?)LOL.

Someone  can be classified of doing gambling in business when there are promise 
of
getting  handsome  profit  in  relatively  short  time  on  particular
business  model.Why?This  gambling  business model can not sustain its
profitability  in  the  long  run.Good  business  must  be  exist  for
reasonably  long  time.So  called  "boom and bust" period do happen in
ordinary  business,but  it  occured  more  frequently  and  wildly  in
imature  (gambling)  business  model.We entered 21 century seeing many
so called dot com business collapseed.This business used to be on high
existence   due   to   high   potential   profit   according  to  its
proponents.OTOH,people  making  profit  from  any  business  can  not
morally  achieve  this  based  on  any other side sufferings.Let's see
Enron   case.The   board  directors  create  false  accouting  report
indicating  best  performance  by  company.When public expectation was
high  (staock  price  was  high),the director exercise their rights to
stock  options.They  got handsome amount of money.When it was revealed
that  the profit claimed by financial repost was bogus,the stock price
plunged,leaving  employee who joined ESOP (Employee Stock Option Plan)
suffered.

Is  there  any big company that has its share ownership so disperse no
shareholder   can   exert   major   influence   on  company  decision
making?AFAIK,share  of  MNC  are held by only several institution with
high  proportion  of  share  ownership.  To democratize the economy,we
maybe  should  review  principle  of Koperasi. One head one vote.Sound
like obsolete in this market-capitalism economy,eh?

The question is,why our so called indigenous government can not do its
role  properly?In  era  Otonomi  Daerah,many  indigenous-literally-get
important  position  in their respective area .But the situation became even 
worse
compared  with Era Orde Baru.

I   have  read  review  on  books that try to relate globalization and
democracy with conflict  in  several  countries.  It  tell that in any 
particular
country  there is part of its citizen which get full reward of
globalization  with  the  rest  do not. The one with benefit is always
related in some way or another with past colonialist. The situation is
made  worse  with the adoption of democracy similar to one implemented
in   the   West.   In   Srilanka   we   have   Tamil   and   Sinhala.
Sinhalanese is
successful  economically  but  seen  as traitor by Tamilese because in
British  colonial  era Sinhalanese get special treatment from colonial
goverment.

Good  in science (hard one) and Mathematics surely can lead someone to
be  able  to solve problem better. At least he/she is comfortable with
systematical  approach  in  solving  problem  that is inherent on hard
science  and  mathematics. Drilling in learning is important before we
go  further  to  mind developing. How we can relate seemingly different
subject  that  actually have relations if we still cannot remember the
details of the subjects involved? Btw,drilling in learning can produce
good output too.I have classmate at ITS now serving as Guru Militer in
AAL.He  told  me  that  AAL  student basically 'stupid' in terms of IQ
(mind  you  AAL  only  set  36  as  NEM score for its student entrance
process-36/7=5+).During  4 year in AAL,Taruna receive drilling and only
drilling  physically  and intellectually. My friend always can slap any
Taruna  who  can  not  answer  his  question 8-)The results : Bunch of
people  with  high  dignity,courage,self determination,discipline,self
esteem  (Well  I  must  admit  that  this will last only for first year
during  commission.  After  that  you  will see an AAL graduate become
involved in dirty business 8-) )

The  interesting  thing about Mathematics is its branch that now evolve
as  Information Technology. Just like Math,children can start learn IT
in  early  age.  People  at  elderly  age  also find that it is not so
difficult to study IT. Elementary student can study the same materials
given  in  university  level provided the course does not require high
level   math and English off course. Many people with diverse education 
background has chosen
IT  as  hobby including artist. Is IT half science and half art?I have
seen a book title "The Art of Programming"


The  phenomenon of people looking for inspiration in Leonardo Da Vinci
is  similar albeit not exactly with the natural phenomenon revealed in
Holy Quran. While natural phenomenon in Holy Quran are always true and
we        must       therefor       search       for       their
explanation  /  relations  / cause-effect,Leonardo Da Vinci turbulence
model   could  be  found  by  accident  when  he  was  drunk 8-).In my
view,artist  is  kind  of  people  that  exploit  animal desire inside

Am   I   dreaming?I   predict  35  years  from  now,by  the  time  we
retire,western  country  economy will  be  essentially  run  by non indigenous
westerner  (immigrant)  .  I  mean  many jobs are handled by them,like
doctors,engineers,every  jobs  that  require  skills  which indigenous
westerner  are hesitate to study. OTOH,many westerners will be sent to
developing  nations  to  assume  managerial  positions on MNC based on
particular   country.  Or  they  can  come  as  so  called  financial
consultants  usually used by government bodies (like McKenzei which is
hired    by   BPPN  in  Indonesia).  Unfortunately,due  to  developing
nation
government  stupidity,this westerner are given salary higher than what
they  should  have  if  they  do  not  work  overseas. Guess what,many
westerner  that  designated  to  work in developing nations are deemed
unqualified in their motherland,hence the relocations occur.

Communist  Party  in  Mainland  China will do their best to make China
Republic  as  the  most  powerful economic power in the world. Besides
resources  from  inside  the  country  they  can  rely  on  the  ones
outside.  Think  of  it,how many years from now that Taiwan will still
hold  its  independence.  When  the  time  is  appropriate Taiwan will
integrate  with  The  Mainland. Even now,Taiwanese company are heavily
investing  on  The Mainland. The next is Singapore. This country is so
closely related to China Republic. Where else you can find country far
from  The  Mainland  which populated with and have government run by ethnic
Chinese?Indonesia  is  also has close ties,right?Our government run by
stupid indigenous and the economy run by smart Chinese which still prefer to put
its  money  on  the  Motherland  (or Singapore in case of conglomerate
owner after May 1998).The last but not the least:overseas Chinese that
scattered  around  the  world  and  have high capabilities in terms of
education,wealth,and-this    is    the    most    important-Chinese
nationalism regardless off citizenship.
Goods manufactured in China are flooding Indonesia. You can name every
goods  possible  and there we can find the one with 'Made in China' on
it.   Fortunately   for  average  Indonesian,the  coming  of  product
manufactured  in  China  has  enabled them to taste the latest product
which  are  otherwise  not affordable if manufactured elsewhere. The only
drawback of goods manufactured in China is lack of reliable quality
control.  Sometimes,we can have the good one but on the other occasion
we can also get the bad one.

Appropriateness   of   doing religions details (and consequences arise
later from it) has strong relations with
the  amount  of subscriber of particular religions. You simply can not
demand   reduced   working   hour   if   you   work   in   US  during
Ramadhan.  Subscriber  here  does  not mean as person completely doing
his/her  religion  details. Subscriber in broader terms include people
inclining  to  particular  religion.  Example,an atheist who feel sick
watching   muslimah   in  Afghanistan  wearing burkha but happy to see
Britney Spears half
naked  can  be  classified  as Christian subscriber. Why,because BS is
devout  Christian.  How  can  you conclude so?Because Pope John Paul II has
announced   BS  as 'Virginity Ambassador'=Duta Keperawanan 8-).Richard
Stallmand,the  founder  of Free Software Movement can be classified as
subscriber   to   Islamic  Principle  which  does  not  know  patents
rights,royalty and everything rent-seeking.
Why  can  religions  easily  be  misused?It  is  because people are so
stupidly dictated by so called religious public figure. Many of us are
blind  follower of this person. There is religious public figure who
committed  activities  deemed  inappropriate  in  terms  of  religion
teaching  he/she  always  preaches.  If  Allah  SWT gives us humankind
capability  to  think  why we should put task of interpreting religion
teaching   for   our   lives   completely  to  other  person so called
religious  figure.  We  can  have  their  say but should not follow it
blindly.  In  Islamic context,I think the books written on Islam during
pre    Industrial   Revolution  era  are  the  genuine  ones (worth to
be
studied). The writer has not
yet been influenced by western idea.
