hmm Solaris 2.6 is end of life! and network code changed so much since Solaris
7.
Solaris 7 <-> Solaris 8 applications are 99% compatible as long they are
compiled in 32-bits mode, furher there is a patch dependancy, that is
why the systems (7 & 8) must be at latest MU-level and Recommended patch.
Solaris 9 so far i had 2-3 small problem runing Solaris 8 on it but then
again Solaris 9 is still beta.....

btw: any Solaris 2.6 application is best to be compiled under a sun4c
system as that would make it upwards compatible to sun4m and sun4u
system, sun4x are not support under Solaris 2.6! But i guess that is not
what you running :-)
