Sorry, guilty as charged. My original intention for the list, and actually
still is, is to keep it primarily for notifying members of updates,
bugs/fixes, and so on. I'd really like users to be at least aware of
changes, even if they choose not to upgrade. Problems like the phpa enable
problem I obviously like to announce as it's directly relevant now, and the
list being archived and searchable can be useful too.
Ideally I'd prefer bugs reports and info directly to me, and if relevant to
everyone I'd then publish a relevant message in the list.
Thanks for speaking up. Interesting though other performance issues are, we
should try to keep just on phpa topics anyway. If people would like a
performance list, such as Jamie suggested, then I or someone else could
create one. There probably is a php performance list somewhere already
though? ... or maybe not? But I would hate for people to leave the phpa
list because they felt it getting too noisy.
