this may be correct. I had a chat with one of the php folks, and they
suggested that the apache2 model and how php integrates is rather
different, and may require a redesign of phpa due to the fact that php
may not be opening up files directly - although how the ini path would
be supported I don't then know. Perhaps phpa has the option of opening
the stream, but it seems that the model is more of a chain of filters
(for want of a better/correct word). But someone has to be the source
of data, and if that was php then presumably it would be the filter to
open the files.
In short it's an unknown combination to me at the moment, but I'll
investigate at some point. If anyone has specific info about php
integration with apache, and whether php does open source files and
therefore have access to reliable inode info then that would be welcome.
