Hello!
We were using APC on our webservers until I decided to 'upgrade' to PHPA
yesterday evening. The performance gain is outstandingly dramatic! ;) We are
now able to server more than double the number of visitors and the machine
is still very, very responsive.
Some information about the site:
URL : http://mondial.dhnet.be
Software: Apache 1.3.20, PHP 4.0.6, PHPA 1.3
Hardware: Dual Xeon 800 with 1GB RAM (two machines, one for apache and one
for Sybase database)
Actually, we are now completely saturating our 2 Mbit bandwidth, and the
webserver still asks for more....
Great, Nick! KUDOS! The next plan is to replace APC with PHPA on
www.dhnet.be and www.lalibre.be, too. These are the two biggest belgian
press (news) sites.
