Stupid me. Of course it should be httpd/httpd. I have fixed this in php.ini
and how the restarts seem to work just fine :)
What's more, I even remember having checked in httpd.conf to determine the
correct user and group. Oh well, that is what happens when you have 5
terminal windows opened with different httpd.conf files at the same time....

Hmm, don't know if apache is run under user "nobody"
On my raq3 it's "httpd". Check your httpd.conf. Maybe that would make a
difference?
