Actually, I have a related question. I upgraded to PHP4.10 and have
grabbed the latest 1.2 version (says dev in the name?), installed OK,
added the reg key.
I had problems with no caching until I purged all the old phpa_ files
from /tmp, but then I tried to create a dir /tmp/phpa owner and group
"apache" (what the webserver runs as), permissions o+rw. However, I get
permission denied errors in the error log. (Mark, do you get any such
errors?)
Reverting to /tmp has fixed things, any thoughts? (Actually I didn't
give execute permissions, perhaps that is the prob...?)
Regards
Ed Wildgoose

Subject: [phpa] Not creating phpa_ files in /tmp
I've installed PHP Accelerator and everything appears to be in order, I
was=20
getting the "[ [warn] No PHPA registration key given for
www.thetrolls.com.=20
PHPA is NOT enabled." in the error log until I entered the right stuff
in=20
the httpd.conf dirctory for that site.
What I'm noticing though is that the installation instructions say "When
running, the Accelerator creates files beginning with 'phpa_' in the
file=20
cache directory, which by default is /tmp. The problem is that no such=20
files are being created in this directory at all. Could someone give
me=20
some ideas as to why I'm not seeing these files? I'm looking there as
root=20
so permissions isn't a problem.
