Hello Ladies,
Yes I expect to be in attendance at tomorrow's meeting. I'll be inviting
a friend so I'll be sure to let Dana know if there it will be just me or
if my friend will join me. I hope to see you ladies there. By the way,
there are directions to Rolands on our website,
http://www.pittawis.org/venues.html
In other news, I've added a calendar to the website
Just in case you don't recall, the web address is
http://www.pittawis.org
The calendar has it's good, bad, and neutral points
+ Simple to use. Just click on the day to add your event.
+ Free with no ads
+ based on iCal (for those who care about the tech behind it)
+ Customizable so that different types of events can have different
colors. The types of events we have now are Meetings, Birthdays,
Local_Events (for non Pittsburgh AWIS stuff), and Non_Local_Events (for
interesting conferences that are not in the Pittsburgh Area). More types
of events can be added if the need arises.
+ The ability to add an event that spans multiple days
+ Direct access to the calendar can be found at
http://my.calendars.net/awispittsburgh
- Sometimes it takes awhile for the calendar to load
- Sometimes it fails to load and says the page isn't there when you are
editing. Reloading is the work-around.
# The security is not yet turned on. This means anyone in the world can
add events to our group calendar. We can leave it this way but the
calendar might get stolen by a prankster or defaced by some spammers.
We can add a username and password but I'll let the group decide.
Please let me know your comments about the calendar.
Thanks,
Beth Lynn Eicher
