Thanks for taking on this task.  Here is some of my background
information:

Short bio:  

 

I have a B.S. and M.S. in Geology with a Math minor as well as an M.B.A.
I have been working for a variety of environmental consulting firms
since 1986, and am now a senior project manager and principal at
Cardinal Resources L.L.C.  I have been project manager on a variety of
environmental projects, with an emphasis on assessment and remediation
of hazardous waste sites.  My technical specialties include general
geology, geophysics and hydrogeology as they relate to environmental
consulting.

 

Ways you would like to help out AWIS:  

 

I have been very interested in AWIS since Dana Schliebner first
suggested the idea in late 2004.  That's why I volunteered to be
Secretary of our chapter this year.  I would be willing to speak about
one of my projects, help find speakers, or help organize discussion
groups on topics of interest.

 

What do you think this chapter of AWIS should focus on?

 

First and foremost, I would like our chapter to be a great resource for
women in the technical fields no matter what stage of their career they
are in.  I am also hoping that we can help mentor young women in the
early stages of their careers and perhaps recruit girls into the
technical fields.  It would be great if it was also a way to network and
to provide moral support for women in the technical fields.  (Heaven
knows, we need all of the support we can get :-))  Finally, I think it
should be a place to just relax and have some fun while learning knew
skills.
