I wonder if it can still be used if a Maxtor drive is just the 
storage drive in a PC, but WD is the main HD and the main HD is 
what you want imaged/backed up?  (Of course this would be with 
the MaxBlast version of the download).  If you imaged a Toshiba 
drive, then it sounds like it would work in my scenario.

Acronis is a stand alone program. Make as many images as you 
like as
long as a Seagate or affiliate drive is involved.
I used this program to image a Toshiba drive attached via USB 
to my
desktop, which has all Maxtor/Seagate drives.
