Subject: [PCWorks] Firefox error problem
Hello again ... I'm using Windows XP and Firefox and on various sites
(problem seems to be increasing) I get this message:
"firefox.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for
the inconvenience."
Error signature:
AppName: firefox.exe AppVer: 1.9.0.3257 ModName: msvcr80.dll
ModVer: 8.0.50727.762 Offset: 0004ef67
And then there is the option of "reporting" information about my "process"
(showing a huge window with all kinds of coding) including the following
file(s): C:\DOCUME~1\COMPAQ~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\3d84_appcompat.txt
Finally I can click either "Debug" or "Close" ... both shutting down
Firefox. When opening Firefox again, I have the option to "Restore Previous
Session" or "Start New Session" (which then is usually no problem, until I
come up to another site or page on that site, where the "encountered a
problem" message appears again). Anyone familiar with this and know what I'm
supposed to do?
Excuse the format of this posting as I copied/pasted a couple of lines
directly from those message windows. --- Harold
