-=PCTechTalk=- win 98, restored, but no modem shows

in "the deep stuff" here, neighbor did a quick restore on pc, but wizzard 
can't find the modem. I went (somewhere) and choose STANDARD WINDOWS modem 
and let it search for drivers and still no luck...I even installed aol and 
let it search for drivers...( see how desperate I am)...granny

....also: the reason for the restore was beause the ninny got an "illegal 
operation" while on-line and thought she had got a virus so begin deleting 
all kinds of stuff...then I think she got into the networking wizard, 
thinking it would fix her aol virus...but I'm thinking she set her pc up as a 
server/or something...is this possiable? and where do I go to change this? 
And would the "restore" have fixed that part? before the restore, when I 
turned her pc on , I got a networking pop-up box wanting a password...this no 
longer comes up....but no modem...now if I don't get her on-line, I may have 
to drag out the ol UZI........granny ( in a snit)
