-=PCTechTalk=- uninstalling aol progs


I am trying to uninstall some AOL programs.
I never installed them - I think perhaps a while back,
a friend of my son's did. They are dated 2005.

In add/remove in control panel, there is an AOL toolbar.
It won't remove (don't even know that it is on here - HOW DO
I TELL?)  It says can't open install.log.

In my program files,
I have 3 aol folders. (actually 4, including my AIM folder).

1)American Online 9.0 - which has 3 files in it - This had
been uninstalled in add/remove.

2)AOL - that has 2 folders - Explorer and Installers (that
has aol explorer 1.0 in it)

3)and AOL toolbar. It has all sorts of stuff in it.

so - I am guessing that I can delete the 1)american online
9.0 folder because it has been uninstalled. A registry
cleaner did not remove those files. (just ran a different 
registry cleaner and it found more aol files from here that 
it removed, but not those 3 in the folder!

How do I get rid of the 2) and 3) folders???

I've never delt with aol before -and really don't want to be
having to do it now!!!
