I go into misconfig probably 3 times a day, uncheck messenger, reboot and
voila a few hours later up pops the icon and sure enough there is a check
mark next to it in msconfig - not serious I know but very pesky! At least
it pops up turned off so I probably should be thankful for that.
Second one - when I had Panda they insisted I add a password and told me I
would never ever be able to remove it and if I forgot it I would need to buy
a new computer (well not quite those words <gr>) So I put one in being the
obedient consumer. It was very annoying because every time I rebooted my
computer I had to put that password in. So I dump Panda and get Trend Micro
and think I'm (I know - never think!) I'm smart and I'll just go into my
profile and remove the password which I did. That made it possible for me
to reboot with no password. But.... at the same time it basically took away
my ability to set a sceduled task. I tried everything and the only way I
could get the task to work was to go back to my profile, put that password
in and then use it to set a scheduled task. Me thinks I'm probably stuck
with this pesky problem but am hoping maybe someone has a solution.
It's a beautiful day here and heading out to an Italian festival (Irish girl
who was raised in an Italian neighborhood in NYC) so hope everyone has a
good day- thanks! Dolores
