-=PCTechTalk=- suzanne--finally an answer to RAM problem

Sorry to have been gone so long, but I did finally manage to get my computer
to recognize all 512MB of my new RAM (well, not so new anymore). I tried the
clear CMOS jumper on the motherboard, tried clearing the NVRAM, tried
reinstalling Windows several times, tried putting the stick in the second
slot, nothing worked. So I bit the bullet and did a reformat, and presto! I
now have all my RAM working. Somehow Windows must have been holding the old
96MBsetting in there. It still shows the checking NVRAM correctly on the
boot screen, and now it shows the correct 512MB RAM on System Info also.

BTW, for the ones who heard that you can't run 98SE with more than, I think
they said 128MB, let me tell you, it's not true. Got this baby running all
512MB : )

Whew! Thanks so much for sticking with me while I was gone so often. And to
all the others that offered suggestions also, thank you very much.

Now to the laptop problems....LOL
