Hello Group,
I am so frustrated I could take an axe to this thing.

I did some windows updates last week and when I did a defrag the system
restarted itself which is unusual for this machine. I did the three fingered
salute and found something named KB891711. Further hunting around with Dr
Watson tells me that the KB891711.exe Version 4.10.2222 component has altered
the system files. Because it is an .exe I thought it may have been a nasty but
Trend Micro found nothing. All I can find out is that is a patch from Microsoft.

I downloaded a proggy called SpyBouncer and when I tried to open it I got a box
telling me that there was a run-time error 429 and that "Active X can't create
object".
I thought I might have been able to delete it (KB891711.exe)........after all,
I got on ok before I did the windows update!............. no, not allowed to do
that, windows is using it ......What for may I ask????????

Are these problems related or just two more #*^^#!#+** problems I have to deal
with?

Yours in tears, Lyn
