First I had taken the great suggestion to set everything to infranview.
Then I decided ACDSee had to go so removed it, thought that as long as I was
reading in the folder options that all my .ext were set for Microsoft
Picture and Fax Viewer which I had become used to before the changes I'd be
fine. Well it may have said it was set for that but EVERYTHING opened in
paintshop now. I thought maybe if I set each .ext to paint shop and then
back to MPFV that would work (trick it I was thinking). Nope! So good old
google to the rescue. The first site had me change the string in the file
type application string - didn't work. So did another google search and
found where I could type in the Start, Run, textbox
"regsvr32 shimgvw.dll" - without the quotes and voila problem solved!
Without google I'd be lost so many times as no matter how much I think I've
learned to fix quirks, a new one pops up. Anyhow thought I'd share it in
case anyone else didn't know about it. Dolores
